Description
Gerd Göran
Gerd is born 1919, Karmansbo Sweden. She married the artist Niklas Göran 1943. The couple moved to Sångshyttan 1953, they have six children. Gerd studied textile desing at University of Arts, Craft and Design, Stockholm (1936-41). She has had several separate exhibitions and is represented at museums, municipalities and county councils.
Throughout her long life, Gerd has explored the magic of color in nature’s variations – from textile design to watercolor, oil, and finally acrylic. Her work has often drawn inspiration from motifs around her farm in Sångshyttan, where nature has come to life on canvas, delighting many visitors over the years.
Although Gerd is no longer active as an artist, her work is still relevant. Now, at the age of 107, she lives in Skåre outside Karlstad, where she also grew up. In 2026, her art will be exhibited at Färgfabriken in Stockholm and at Galleri Kim Anstensen in Gothenburg.
Here we present an exhibition called Variation on sunflower
