Description
Emelie Lager
Emelie Lager, born in 1981 in Gothenburg, is a self-taught freelance photographer
who works full time with everything from styling and filming music videos to creating
documentary advertising material in hotel and restaurant environments. She is the grand daughter of Gerd and Niklas Göran and the daughter of Malin and Tord Lager.
Since Emelie grew up in an artist family, free creation has always been a central and obvious part of life. Already at the age of four, Emelie stood in front of the mirror in her costumes and pretended to immortalize the outfit with a small clicking sound from her mouth, as if she had a built-in camera in her head. When she was six years old, she made cartoons with a Super 8 camera, in her teens she developed her black and white analog photos in the home lab and between the ages of nine and 22 she documented her life more or less daily on VHS-C cassettes. Today, she only photographs and films digitally.
Emelie is represented:
Galleri Kim Anstensen in Gothenburg
She has also exhibited at e.g. Gothenburg Art Association, A Gallery and Scandinavian Photo.
In 2017, she was given the prestigious assignment to be Sweden’s product ambassador for the new cinematic camera Canon EOS C200.
In this exebition Emelie presents a selection of portraits made of her grandmother Gerd Göran
